Welcome Randy, Tim, and Biata!
December 2025
As we bring 2025 to a close, our Rotary Club of Saskatoon warmly welcomes three new members to our Rotary family while also presenting a cheque in support of Bethany Home!Read more to meet Randy, Tim, and Biata, and learn about the talents and passions they bring to our mission of "Service Above Self."
At our club meeting on December 15, 3 new members were inducted to the Rotary Club of Saskatoon:

Randy Weekes: Randy is a Canadian politician. W=He was a Saskatchewan Party Member of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan from 1999 to 2024 and served as Speaker of the Legislative Assembly from 2020 to 2024. He also served as Minister of Rural & Remote Health, Government Caucus Chair, and Government Whip. Randy has served as a member of the Knights of Columbus for 35 years and a member of the St. Gabriel Parish. He is founder of, and active fundraiser for, the Honorable Randy Weekes Strengthening of Parliamentary Democracy Legacy Fund. Randy's interests are to support ongoing and new projects of our Club.
Tim Ellison: Tim is the new general manager of the Saskatoon Club, where our Rotary Club meets. Tim is a new member to the Rotary Club of Saskatoon, but has transferred his membership here from the Waterfront Rotary Club in Vancouver, where he was a founding member. Tim grew up and lived his whole life in the Vancouver area, although he has family roots in the prairies. As a lifetime hospitality professional Tim is a gold level chef and sommelier. Most recently he was the General Manager of the Vancouver club which is a turn-of-the-century business club very similar to the Saskatoon Club. Tim is excited about what he calls the private club industry. He feels it fills a unique need supporting a trans-generational family. He is hoping Saskatoon will be more like Vancouver used to be. Already he is seeing how tight knit the business community is in Saskatoon. It is also very family oriented. He is looking forward to meeting the Saskatoon Community.
Biata Ngalula: (not present in photo)Biata is a nurse by profession with 30 years of experience. As she nears retirement, she is interested in community service through our club. Biata has volunteered in the past as a “Big Sister” in Bishop Pocock School and in fundraising events for Joy’s Centre. Of special interest to her would be projects that would involve handmade craft items for sale and health activities.

At this meeting a cheque was presented to the Salvation Army in support of Bethany Homes - a transitional residence for female youth between the ages of 12 to 18 years who may be experiencing risks in their own homes or in the community. There they receive life skills training, training for conflict and crisis situations as well as spiritual and cultural support.
Join us in supporting and shaping the future of Bethany Home
