Sponsoring St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs
April 2022

After 2 years of covid-related delays, our Club was finally able to present vests to the 5 new Theray Dogs sponsored by the Rotary Club of Saskatoon at a ceremony in April 2022.

In 2020, the Rotary Club of Saskatoon agreed to sponsor 5 dog/owner teams for the St. John Ambulance’s Therapy Dog program.

This program takes a volunteer and their specially trained dog into hospitals, seniors' residences, nursing homes or vaccination clinics on a weekly basis. Through petting, affection, and regular visitation, many people benefit both physically and emotionally from the unconditional love of a dog, while also providing the volunteer with a unique and rewarding volunteer experience.

At a ceremony held in April of 2022 (delayed because of Covid), these new dogs were presented with their vests by club president Mark Gryba and project chairperson Gary Rusu.
